while incumb starter Matt Barklei rest a sore right hand,Mustain plai the major of the second half. and seem to get more and more comfort as the second half went on. Barklei wa 7/19 for 87 yards, and 41 of hi 87 came on hi lone touchdown pass to a wide-open Patrick Patterson.
on can see that Mustain had a better game on Saturday,Just by look at the statist alone. but it wasn't hi stat that jump out to me. He show a much better abil than Barklei to move in the pocket, throw on the run, and make plays. Mustain seldom forc passes, and the major of hi incomplet were thrown in area where no on could make a plai on the ball other then hi receivers.
like thei did in the Booti era,Barklei look averag and seem to fit the mold of the "doesn't lose you games" quarterback. USC cannot get by with just an averag quarterback. becaus thei do no have the support cast that thei did in 2007. Mustain provid that extra spark that the Trojan offens need to help them get back to the top of the Pac-10.
Mayb all Mustain need wa anoth fresh start.
